Currently, wholesale and food markets in Peru play a crucial role in the food supply system and in the formation of prices for agricultural, livestock, and fishery products. Information from the National Household Survey reveals that wholesale and food markets account for more than half of food sales in the country, particularly among the middle-class segment of the population.
