In December, year-on-year inflation declined to 1.97% from +2.27% in November, standing close to the midpoint of the 1% to 3% target range set by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP). The Transport category (+1.38%) had the greatest impact on the monthly result, due to higher prices of passenger air transport (+9.2%) and road transport (+1.5%), driven by increased demand during the year-end holidays.
