Extractive activity in the fishing sector decreased by 20.0% in volume terms compared to May 2021. This result was mainly explained by lower landings of resources intended for direct human consumption (DHC) (-28.1%), due to unfavorable oceanographic conditions associated with the presence of cold waters caused by the La Niña phenomenon. In addition, anchoveta landings intended for indirect human consumption (IHC) also decreased (-19.2%).
