Annual Economic Survey

The Annual Economic Survey (EAA) is a statistical investigation aimed at companies and their establishments by economic activity, whose purpose is to guarantee the availability and reliability of basic economic statistics, useful in the preparation of macroeconomic aggregates and sectoral financial economic indicators.

The EAA aims to collect fundamental economic and financial statistical information to characterize the evolution of business activities within the country, both at the national and departmental levels. This data is crucial for the planning, formulation, and evaluation of public policies across various sectors and/or productive, commercial, and service activities.

In addition, the EAA specifically considers the following challenges:

  • Obtain fundamental statistical information about companies and their establishments to characterize the economic structure of businesses in the country at both national and departmental levels, by economic activity.
  • Serve as a continuous source for updating the Central Directory of Companies and Establishments.
  • Organize and implement a Data Bank containing systematically organized and classified statistical information, thereby creating a Basic Information System for National Accounts, as well as for the design, implementation, and evaluation of sectoral public policies.
